Schuman Financial has chosen DFNS as the core wallet infrastructure for the issuance and distribution of EURØP, its MiCA-compliant euro stablecoin. For a regulated e-money issuer, the layer that mints, holds, moves, and governs the token is not a technical detail. It is where the regulatory promise gets kept: every issuance fully backed, every movement controlled, every action provable to a regulator. By building on DFNS, Schuman runs that layer on a core banking platform for digital assets, engineered to the same standard as the license it operates under.

Schuman Financial, the issuer of EURØP

Schuman Financial is the issuer of EURØP, a euro stablecoin built to be the modern standard for euro-denominated money onchain. EURØP is an e-money token pegged 1:1 to the euro and issued under a French EMT license, fully compliant with MiCA and regulated by the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution at the Banque de France, with authorization extending across the EU and EEA. It is the profile European institutions have been waiting for: not an offshore instrument adapted to Europe, but a European instrument from the ground up.

The backing matches the license. EURØP is 100% backed by reserves held in cash and cash equivalents at leading European financial institutions, including Société Générale, and audited quarterly by KPMG. Qualified business clients mint EURØP by depositing euros and redeem it directly, while retail users access it through a growing network of partners.

That network is the other half of the story. EURØP is live across leading exchanges and platforms including Kraken, Bitpanda, Bitvavo, SwissBorg, bit2me, and N26, with ecosystem partners spanning Polygon, Ripple, and beyond. And the timing is the thesis: the euro is the world’s second most used currency, yet euro stablecoins represent less than 1% of the stablecoin market. As MiCA gives Europe the clearest stablecoin rulebook in the world, Schuman is positioned to close that gap, and the infrastructure underneath has to be ready for what that means at scale.

What DFNS runs for EURØP

DFNS is the core banking platform for digital assets: the operating layer between an issuer’s business logic and the networks its token lives on. For a stablecoin issuer, that layer has a precise job description.

Issuance as a governed operation. Minting and burning EURØP are state changes with regulatory weight, each mint must correspond to euros received, each burn to a redemption. On DFNS, these run as policy-governed operations: multi-party approval quorums, role-based permissions, and limits are enforced below the API, before anything is signed, so issuance authority is a controlled, auditable process rather than a credential that can be phished or misused.

Distribution at scale. Moving EURØP to exchanges, partners, and business clients means operational wallets, transfer flows, and treasury management across every network the token lives on, with allowlists, velocity controls, and screening applied to each movement. DFNS provides the account layer, transaction lifecycle management, and treasury tooling as one system, through one API, so distribution scales without multiplying operational risk.

Evidence a regulator will accept. Every action on DFNS lands in a complete, exportable audit trail, cryptographically signed and ready for the reviews a regulated EMI runs continuously. When the ACPR, an auditor, or a reserve attestation asks what happened and who authorized it, the answer is the record, not a reconstruction.

Keys are protected by MPC in Europe and never assembled in one place. DFNS has maintained zero breaches and zero key losses since 2020, operates under SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, 27017, and 27018 certifications audited by KPMG, and deploys as SaaS, hybrid, or fully on-premises. DFNS operates strictly as a technology provider, while issuance, custody, and control remain entirely within Schuman’s regulatory perimeter.

A European stablecoin on European infrastructure

There is a symmetry here worth naming. EURØP is issued in Paris, regulated by the Banque de France’s prudential authority, backed at European banks, and audited by KPMG. DFNS is headquartered in Paris, built for MiCA and DORA from the ground up, and audited by KPMG. As Europe’s regulatory clarity turns the euro’s onchain moment from thesis into flows, the euro stablecoin leading it now runs on infrastructure built to the same standards, in the same jurisdiction, for the same regulators.

Together, Schuman Financial and DFNS pair a regulated euro instrument with the core banking platform to operate it: issuance, distribution, treasury, and governance, secured and auditable end to end. The euro’s share of onchain money is about to change. This is the foundation it changes on.
